In 2018, right after high school — before campus — I did what most of us do: I hustled.

I’d go to Gikomba Market, dig through piles of second-hand clothes, pick the best pieces, and resell them for profit. I also did bike deliveries on Uber Eats, moving across the city, learning patience, speed, and discipline. It was honest work. It built character. It taught me consistency.

But even then, I kept thinking:
“There has to be a smarter way to earn — something I can grow long-term.”

Later that same year when I joined campus, I discovered something that changed everything: freelancing and the online gig economy.

I came across YouTube videos about people making money online from home — designing, writing, building websites, managing social media — and it honestly sparked something in me.

It wasn’t magic. It was skill.

So I made a choice: instead of jumping from hustle to hustle forever, I would learn a digital skill that could open doors globally.

I started with the easiest tool I could access — Canva.

I practiced daily, designed anything I could, and slowly built confidence. Then I took the leap and started freelancing on Upwork and Fiverr. That’s where I learned how to work with real clients, deliver quality, and communicate professionally.

As I grew, I started noticing something important: many businesses were active on social media, but they didn’t look “serious” online. Some had no website. Others had websites that were slow, outdated, or confusing — and as a result, they were losing customers without even knowing it.

That’s what pushed me into website building — and eventually into WordPress.

What made WordPress stand out for me was simple: it’s easy, scalable, and trusted worldwide.

In fact, WordPress powers over 43% of all websites globally, making it the most widely used content management system in the world. And the best part? It’s perfect for non-tech business owners because it doesn’t require complicated coding or heavy technical jargon. It’s easy to manage, easy to update, and flexible enough to grow with your business.

So I shifted from “just designing”… to building full websites that are made to perform.

Then I went deeper — learning SEO so businesses can show up on Google, and social media strategy so they can stay visible and trusted daily.

By 2021, I had fully specialized in WordPress development, website redesigns, and SEO-friendly content structure, helping businesses improve how they present themselves online and attract customers through search and social platforms.

Today, my work is simple:
